Carin Thor joined International Family Law Chambers in December 2001 after completing her Master of Laws at the London School of Economics and Political Science. In her Masters she specialised in family law, alternative dispute resolution and human rights. Carin also holds a Swedish Master of Laws (Jur kand) from the University of Lund, in which she majored in family law and compensation law. She qualified as a Swedish lawyer in June 2000.

Since Carin joined IFLC she has focussed on building the Chambers' Scandinavian family law practice. Carin is a member of the Swedish Junior Chamber of Commerce, which is part of the Swedish Embassy organisation. She is also a member of the British-Nordic Lawyers Association.

With her detailed knowledge of the Scandinavian legal systems, Carin is well placed to advise on Scandinavian cases as well as assisting in cases involving other jurisdictions. She is working on qualification as an English solicitor.
