International Family Law Chambers

Kerstin Beyer
Rechtsanwältin (Germany)
Solicitor (England and Wales)

Kerstin BeyerKerstin Beyer joined International Family Law Chambers in June 1999 following her training with commercial law firms and government agencies in Hamburg. Her law degree from Hamburg University included majors in European and International law and an internship at the European parliament in Luxembourg. Kerstin takes primary responsibility for the Chambers' cases emanating from the European jurisdictions.

In December 2000 she successfully completed the examinations to qualify as a solicitor in England and Wales. She was only the 70th German lawyer to have done so. Kerstin is a member of the Schleswig-Holsteinische Rechtsanwaltskammer, the Law Society of England and Wales and Resolution.

Kerstin's understanding of the European Union legal system is increasingly relevant to the work of Chamber's lawyers. With the introduction on 1 March 2001 of uniform divorce jurisdiction rules throughout the EU (except Denmark) and the expansion of the EU to 27 member States she is well placed to advise on which country's legal system will best protect her clients' interests.
